A little about Shinano!

Things I love: tacos, happy hour, exploring, my son & dog & spouse, my family (which includes a dozen nieces & nephews), friends, trees, rivers, coffee, donuts, film, biking, soccer, art, comedy, & creative thinking!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've been lucky to explore many locations across the globe, but one of my most favorite places to find escapades is in Minneapolis. All the art, parks and delicious food keeps me happy here year round.
It's pretty fun that I'm not the only one in my family with a passion for art. My spouse plays music & builds electric guitars. My mother is a Japanese Tea Ceremony expert & teacher (which has a great meditative art quality to the form). My father has a lifelong hobby of painting & photography. My brother is a film maker & editor. And decades ago, my grandfather owned and ran his own photography studio in Japan. Unfortunately, his shop was destroyed during WWII. Getting by as a fisherman for years, he eventually earned the job as the calligrapher for the special edition sake bottles that the Emperor of Japan drank during each New Years celebration.

Being surrounded by art & creative thinking has brought a lot of joy & peace into my life. Documenting moments with photography is a pleasure of mine. And if I can utilize that skill to bring joy or insight into other people's lives, then I feel fortunate.
